FEAPO Overview

The Federation of Enterprise Architecture Professional Organizations (FEAPO) is a worldwide association of professional organizations which have come together to provide a forum to standardize, professionalize, and otherwise advance the discipline of Enterprise Architecture (EA).  

FEAPO provides a forum for member organizations to present the work of their respective organizations to a larger community for further comment, evolution, and eventual recognition. By providing this mechanism across the industry, membership in FEAPO presents the opportunity for recognition and adoption of standards, bodies of knowledge, certifications, model curriculums, and other items of interest to the larger enterprise architecture community.

Why FEAPO?

The most critical issue facing government, defense and commercial enterprises today is the rapid pace of change in almost every industry. With the rate of technological change increasing combined with today’s budget and competitive pressures, enterprises must be able to change rapidly often just to survive, let alone succeed. More and more organizations are turning to the evolving science of Enterprise Architecture to develop solutions to these challenges.

Increasing the amount of computer hardware, software, staff, or outsourcing is not the solution; it is a large part of the problem. Rather, the solution requires strategic vision from senior management and individuals that can translate strategy into rapid action. The successful EA professional requires a unique combination of skills and perspectives. These professionals need to integrate strategic, business, and technology planning methods with an ability to understand, analyze, justify, and communicate the solution of enterprise problems. This is the realm of Enterprise Architecture.

FEAPO provides a forum to facilitate collaboration and coordination of activities among Enterprise Architecture related professional organizations to work toward a better integrated community, and “one face” for the advancement of the practice and profession of Enterprise Architecture. The advent of FEAPO has been welcomed the world over because there is a strong desire among practitioners and organizations in many countries to professionalize and advance the field of enterprise architecture.
